Three Runners Hit By Car Near Williamsburg, Va., Including Sophomore Eli Cramer, Who Died By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor The Milligan College track team was dealing with a tragedy on Thursday while on the road to compete in this weekend's William & Mary Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Va. WCYB reported that three cross country and track and field athletes, Eli Cramer, Eli Baldy and Alex Mortimer were struck by a vehicle while out on a run together. Cramer was killed. Mortimer is undergoing treatment for his injuries and Baldy was treated and released. Cramer placed 10th at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the men's 5,000 meters, March 3-5 in Brookings, S.D. He was the third man on Milligan's national championship cross country team last fall, placing 20th overall at the NAIA Cross Country Championships. In high school, Cramer was a member of the Riverdale High cross country and track teams in Murfreesboro, Tenn. More news |
