Tatum David Breaks Illinois Girls 3,200m RecordPublished by
David Solos 9:48.94 At Herrin Girls Invitational By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Photo courtesy Rob David The run on sub-10 minute eight-lappers for girls extends beyond the 55th Arcadia Invitational. At a relatively small meet Monday in Southern Illinois, Tatum David of Olney (Richland County) cruised alone to a time of 9:48.94 in the 3,200 meters at the Herrin Girls Invitational -- winning by minutes. David broke the all-time Illinois best of 9:52.02 by Katelynne Hart of Glenbard West in 2018. David had recently traveled to Charlottesville, Va. and back over the weekend for a visit to her future campus. She is committed to run for Virginia in the fall. Her 3,200 time converts to about 9:52.3 for the 2-mile, which would put her at No. 8 on the all-time list maintained by Track and Field News' high school editor Jack Shepard.
