Kaylin and Khalifa ready for the World Championships by DrBob - IAAF World Outdoor Championships - DyeStatFL

"Florida Fast" takes on a different meaning over the next several days as two Sunshine State high schoolers will compete against the World's best athletes during the 2015 IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China.

Khalifa St. Fort and Kaylin Whitney have taken another great step during their young careers and will be representing their respective countries at the 2015 IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China.

Khalifa St. Fort is coming off two large international meets competing for Trinidad and Tobago.

She was the Pan-American Junior Champion in the 100m going 11.31 and also the Silver medalist at the 2015 IAAF World Youth Championships in the 100m where she finished behind high school record holder, American, Candace Hill.

What an unbelievable summer for Khalifa.   Over the course of four months time, we saw her run the Golden South Classic, Dream 100, Trinidad and Tobago Trials, New Balance Outdoors, Pan-Am Juniors and the World Youth Championships.  During that timeframe, we've witnessed her honing her technique, speed and most noticeably, her start, that we consider world-class.

But now, Khalifa finds herself on the biggest of stages besides the Olympics.   Khalifa will be in the 4x100 Relay pool after setting her PR of 11.19 set at the World Junior Championships where she ran 3 PR's, back to back to back.

Khalifa's coach is World Champion sprinter, NBC Commentator and Trinidad and Tobago Sprint/Relays coach, Ato Boldon.

Also representing the Sunshine State will be former East Ridge standout and now Nike Pro Kaylin Whitney, the 200m 2014 IAAF World Junior Champion and 2015 Pan American Champion.

Kaylin will be one of the USA Team members available for 4x100 Relay duty during the Championships.

Follow along throughout the World Championships as we follow the progress of both Kaylin and Khalifa.  Remember, these girls are "Florida Fast" and best of luck to both of our high school competitors from the Sunshine State.
