Brittney Reese Withdraws from TrackTown Summer Series - New York for Family Illness

Brittney Reese announced that she is withdrawing from the TrackTown Summer Series meet Thursday in New York on social media Wednesday, because of a family illness.

In her past two competitions, Reese has earned second-place finishes. First came the USATF Outdoor Championships, where she finished behind Tianna Bartoletta with a jump of 22-10.75 (6.98m). Five days later, Reese jumped 21-6 (6.55m) at the TrackTown Summer Series - San Francisco event at Stanford.

Reese won the long jump at the TrackTown Summer Series - Eugene event last year with a jump of 22-8.5 (6.92m).
