Cam Levins Leaves Nike Oregon Project and Rejoins His College CoachBy Adam Kopet, DyeStat Editor Christopher Kelsall of Athletics Illustrated reports Cam Levins has left the Nike Oregon Project and returned to his college coach Eric Houle. Levins, 28, has represented Canada in 2013 and 2015 IAAF World Outdoor Championships and the 2012 Olympic Games, running the 10,000 meters in all three and twice running the 5,000 meters. He holds the Canadian record in the 10,000 with a time of 27:07.51 from the 2015 Prefontaine Classic. Levins competed for Southern Utah and won two NCAA championships under coach Houle. During his college career he was known to run high mileage to reach his results, upwards of 140 miles per week or more. After missing all of 2016 with injury, Levins is reportedly optimistic about his future. Kelsall cites a CBC article suggesting that Levins may look toward the marathon in the future. More news |
