Idaho track standout 'lucky to be alive' after fall

By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor

Michelle Pratt of Blackfoot, Idaho was riding on an ATV last week in Utah when something went wrong and she plunged over a cliff with her cousin July 3.

Madison Guernsey of the Idaho Press-Tribune reported the harrowing details of the accident and the amazing news that both young women survived. Pratt's mother said that her daughter is lucky to be alive and remains hospitalized.

Pratt earlier this spring broke the all-time Idaho record in the 800 meters when she ran 2:11.47 to win the Class 4A title.

Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery to Pratt, who suffered a head injury along with some fractured bones. The cousin, Danielle Lewis, suffered a broken femur in the fall.
