Trey Knight breaks freshman class hammer record

By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor

Trey Knight of Ridgefield WA (and Evergreen Storm Track Club) broke the freshman class national record in the hammer Friday at the USATF Junior Olympics Region 13 meet at Central Valley High in Spokane.

Knight threw 218 feet, 8 inches (66.64m) to break the record of 213-0 (64.92m), held by Olympian Conor McCullough (2006), who attended Chaminade CA.

Knight already owned the freshman class record in the indoor weight throw from last winter when he threw the 25-pound implement 71-11.50 (21.93m).
