World and Olympic Champions Lead Team USATF in France

By Adam Kopet

Team USATF will be going for it's 10th win at the DecaNation meet in Angers, France, on Saturday.

Sam Kendricks, the World pole vault champion, leads the men's team, which will compete in 10 events, similar to a decathlon. Also competing is Ryan Crouser, the Rio Olympic shot put champion.

The women are led by Kristi Castlin, Rio Olympic 100-meter hurdles bronze medalist and veteran distance runner Shannon Rowbury.

Three years ago, Gia Lewis-Smallwood broke the American record in the women's discus at the DecaNation. She returns this year to compete again.

Six other nations or nation-groups will compete at DecaNation: France, China, Japan, Balkans, Poland and Ukraine.
