Pearl River NY girls dual meet win streak snapped at 221Published by
Tappan Zee NY takes rare dual victory over Pearl River By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor They say all good things come to an end. And even while reporting on a 27-30 dual meet loss by Pearl River NY to a neighborhing rival, the Journal News and writer Nancy Haggerty made a point of highlighting the somewhat quiet achievement of a girls cross country dual meet win streak that started in 1990. Pearl River is coached by the legendary Dan Doherty, so it is no surprise that his teams are successful practically every year. His girls had won 221 consecutive dual meets in a row and that included a victory over another nearby team, Nanuet, on Wednesday. So congrats to Tappan Zee. And congrats to Pearl River for an amazing achievement.
