Freshmen Impress in Early College Indoor SeasonPublished by
Three Freshman Make All-Time Collegiate Indoor Lists in DecemberBy Adam Kopet As was previously reported, Sydney McLaughlin ran a U.S. and collegiate #2 36.12 indoor 300 meters this weekend in her collegiate debut for Kentucky. However, McLaughlin was not the only college freshman to have a big weekend. Texas A&M's Samantha Watson ran a school record 2:42.12 for indoor 1,000 meters at the Reveille Invitational. That performance places her #7 on the collegiate all-time list. Kentucky's Dwight St. Hillaire also had a big weekend. Like McLaughlin, the sprinter from Trinidad and Tobago won the indoor 300 meters at the Hoosier Open. His 32.83 ranks him #5 on the collegiate all-time list. He also finished second in the 60 meters, running 6.78. More news |
