Ajee' Wilson and Robby Andrews to Race at Renamed Dr. Sander InvitationalBy Adam Kopet The Armory announced Tuesday that Ajee' Wilson and Robby Andrews have committed to competing at the Dr. Sander Invitational. Wilson is the reigning USATF Outdoor champion at 800 meters. She set the American record in the 800 at the Monaco Diamond League meeting, running 1:55.61. She also earned the bronze medal in the 800 at the IAAF World Outdoor Championships this past summer. Wilson will compete in the 800 at the Dr. Sander Invitational. Andrews is the reigning USATF Outdoor champion at 1,500 meters. He competed in the 1,500 at the 2016 Olympics and at the 2015 and 2017 IAAF World Outdoor Championship. His best finish was 11th in 2015. Andrews will race the 800 meters at the Dr. Sander Invitational. Formerly known as the Armory Track Invitational, the Dr. Sander Invitational is named after longtime Armory president and founder, Dr. Norbert Sander. He passed away in March. The meet is scheduled for Jan. 25-27 and will include a mix of high school, college and professional competition. The Columbia Challenge will be held under the banner of the Dr. Sander Invitational. Teams competing include Oregon, UCLA, Duke, Villanova, Missouri, Penn, Georgetown, Brigham Young, Wisconsin and Columbia. More news |
