Ivory Coast Olympian Murielle Ahoure, who has a pair of silver medals in the women's 60-meter dash at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in 2012 and 2014, is looking to position herself for gold this year and her performance Saturday in Houston again has her among the leading contenders.

Ahoure clocked 7.07 seconds to prevail at the Houston Invitational, the fastest time in the world produced by a female sprinter in January since she ran 7.05 in 2014. Ahoure holds the Yeoman Field House record by clocking 7.00 in 2013.

It marked the 12th time in her career Ahoure ran 7.07 or faster indoors. She is only of only five women in history to run 7.07 or faster in January, joining American Gail Devers, Jamaica's Merlene Ottey, Nigeria's Chioma Ajunwa and Russia's Natalya Voronova.

Germany's Tatjana Pinto had run 7.08 to grab the world lead Friday in Berlin, before Ahoure lowered her previous seasonal best 7.11 from Jan. 12.
