Mutaz Essa Barshim Gets the High Jump World Lead at the Asian Indoor ChampionshipsBy Adam Kopet Mutaz Essa Barshim cleared a world-leading 7-9.75 (2.38m) to win the high jump Thursday at the Asian Indoor Games. The jumper from Bahrain surpassed the previous world-leading mark by Danil Lysenko, a neutral athlete from Russia, of 7-9.25 (2.37m). Lysenko now holds three of the top-four marks in the world so far this year. Barshim won the high jump after his 7-2.5 (2.20m) clearance.
