Erin Finn Gets Sixth Year of Eligibility for Indoor and Outdoor Track

By Adam Kopet

Erin Finn has been granted an additional season of eligibility by the NCAA, according to the Michigan Athletics Department.

Finn is a four-time NCAA runner-up in cross country and indoor track and field. She holds personal bests of 8:58.69 for 3,000 meters, 15:23.16 for 5,000 meters and 32:41.65 for 10,000 meters.

The extra season indoor track of eligibility was granted for her lost seasons due to injuries. She was given an extra season of outdoor eligibility because she took an "Olympic redshirt" year to prepare for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Finn could make her indoor season debut as early as Jan. 12 at the Wolverine Invitational. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree in epidemiology.
