The one team I see that got hurt the most and deserves consideration to the meet is Downers Grove Illinois south girls. They were 3rd at Roy Griak,3rd at Illinios state meet,3rd at NXN regional, their only losses all year.Who did they lose to,in all 3 meets they did not win they lost to #1 in the country Naperville North and #4 in the country Yorkville. That is it,and they are ranked #14 in the country but the committeee did not elect to advance them, instead sending 2 lesser ranked teams in their place. This is a true travesty and the reason at large selection was instituted in the first place to help teams running in stacked regionals qualify.

Still waiting on girls at-large?! Says will finish posting yesterday...

I see now that Jack Stanley has has accepted the NXN at-large bid to run in Portland. He Ran in the Footlocker Northeast race and was selected for a at-large spot in the NXN championship bypassing other runners that ran in the NXN Regionals. Strange.

Maybe someone can help me? I see that one of the at-large qualifiers is Jack Stanley of NJ. I was at the NXN northeast race and did not see his name in the Results. I did a bit of research and found that he ran that day in the northeast Footlocker race and won that race. He and his team are going to the footlocker championship. Why would he be selected as a at-large runner in the NXN championship?

If this is the case then why just call it At Large CA qualifiers? What biased was when you compare these CA teams especially the #2 team that's selected against other teams in the South, I am sure there are many teams can beat them. Please check Woodbridge CA race this year, that #2 Qualified team was not even in the sweepstake race, it was in the rated race against other schools B team. Their score added up can only be ranked #10 in sweepstake race. That is why it is biased. TX teams deserve a chance!!!'

Where are the Girls At-Large? Also, Disappointing to see other parts of the Country having the opportunity to run both NXN and Footlocker, but the Southeast has both events on the same day. Any chance this can change for the future?

NW Region is in the same situation not able to run FL and NXN because the FL West qualifier is on the same date as NXN. FL says they have to wait for CA state meet to finish which pushes the FL West to the same day as NXN. FL blames Nike.

The comments on here are a joke. Just take top two or top five and quit complaining.

Top two as a team or top five as an Individual Incase that wasn't clear

Are you kidding me??!! Nike meet is just a joke!!! If you are going to pick number 8 ,#13 and hilariously enough you pick #32 ?????? Wow !! Why hold a meet if you already have certain individuals to run ? Why not just send them an invitation to come and run together and save the other athletes the pain. Where did they learn Math? 6,7,8 comes before 13 and 32!!!who in their right mind does that unless its already been planned before and the whole meet is just BS.

He ran a 14:34 which is the #2 time in the country and he won the Texas 6A State Meet.

Finishing 32nd but still qualifying for NXN? Only the cream of the crop!
Top_terp
There are 26 runners that finished before your #1 choice in the South region and 7 that finished before your #2... i didn't even check the rest of the list!
These are good runners, but howmuch weight does NXR meets hold, not much apparently!

This process isn't fair and very biased

The at large team qualifiers seem like in favor of CA teams. Why not give South a chance? Look how many Texas runners qualified foot locker. CA teams are good but not all of them and certainly not the “M” team for girls. They only ran the B race at the Woodbridge and won the B race against some other schools whose A teams were much better than them. I believe there are other teams who also performs much better than them throughout the season that deserves a spot at NXN. I would cast a vote for the Texas teams that have been performing so well throughout the season. And we are talking about A team not B team.

The At-Large bid is pretty much just an automatic CA bid. Let's just give CA three bids and 3 at-large bids, wait that is already happening. Over past 10 years CA given automatic bid 12 times. South got an at-large bid in 2016 and finished 8th that year. Don't quite understand the bias either.
