Distance Runners and Jumpers Lead This Week's Performance of the Week List

This week we saw two world records and an American records to go along with other impressive and all-time performances. Top performances were registered across the country and around the world, with the USATF Indoor Championships and the Husky Classic providing multiple performances on this week's list. Nia Akins: The Penn senior won the 800 meters at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational in 2:00.71, ranking her second on the collegiate all-time indoor list. (Results).

Joshua Cheptegei: The distance runner from Uganda broke the road 5K world record by 27 seconds at the Monaco Run 5K, running 12:51. (Results).

Ryan Crouser: The thrower won the shot put at the USATF Indoor Championships with a mark of 74-1.75 (22.60m), ranking him second on the indoor all-time list. (Results). Watch the throw.

Cruz Culpepper: The high school senior from Niwot CO ran 4:00.10 for the mile at the Husky Classic, finishing sixth. That ranks him fourth on the prep all-time performer list. (Results). Watch the race.

Trey Cunningham: The Florida State junior ran 7.51 in the 60-meter hurdles at the Tiger Paw Invitational to equal seventh on the collegiate all-time performer list. (Results).

Armand "Mondo" Duplantis: The jumper for Sweden improved his world record in the pole vault at the Muller Indoor Grand Prix Glasgow to 20-3.25 (6.18m). (Results).

Tori Franklin: The jumper successfully out-dueled Keturah Orji for the American record and the win in the triple jump at the USATF Indoor Championships with a mark of 48-0.50 (14.64m). (Results). Watch the jump.

Luis Grijalva: The Northern Arizona junior won the 3,000 meters at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational in 7:43.73, ranking him sixth on the collegiate all-time list. (Results).

Olivia Gruver: The Washington senior cleared 15-5 (4.70m) to finish third at the USATF Indoor Championships, ranking her second on the collegiate indoor all-time list. (Results).

Katelynne Hart: The high school senior from Glenbard West IL finished ninth in the 5,000 meters at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational in 16:09.56, ranking her fourth on the prep all-time list. (Results).

Shelby Houlihan: The middle-distance runner won the 3,000 and 1,500 meters at the USATF Indoor Championships, her 12th and 13th national titles, running 8:52.03 and 4:06.41, respectively. (Results). Watch the races.

KC Lightfoot: The Baylor sophomore won the pole vault at the Iowa State Indoor Classic with a clearance of 19-1.50 (5.83m), ranking him equal to fifth on the collegiate indoor all-time performer list. (Results).

Whittni Orton: The BYU senior finished runner-up in the 3,000 meters at the Husky Classic in 8:49.63 to become the sixth fastest collegian indoors ever. (Results). Watch the race.

Marlee Starliper: The high school senior from Northern PA finished ninth in the 3,000 meters at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational in 9:07.14, breaking the senior class record and ranking her third on the prep all-time performer list. (Results).
