Jumpers Lead This Week's Performance of the Week ListThis week we saw two world records and a collegiate record, along with top high school marks from around the country. Emanuel Joseph: The high school junior from North Rockland NY broke the 33-year-old New York state record in the 55-meter hurdles at the Section 1 State Qualifier, running 7.21. (Results). Chris Nilsen: The South Dakota senior broke the indoor collegiate record in the pole vault at the Nebraska Indoor Tune-Up, clearing 19-5.50 (5.93m). (Results). Jaden Price-Whitehead: The high school junior from Upper Dublin PA won the long jump at the TFCAofGP Meet of Champions with a leap of 25-0 (7.62m), good for 19th on the prep all-time performer list. (Results). Yulimar Rojas: The jumper from Venezuela broke the indoor triple jump world record at the Meeting Villa de Madrid with a mark of 50-7.50 (15.43m). (Results). Gavin Sherry: The high school sophomore from Conard CT ran a US#1 8:54.47 to win the 3,200 meters at the CIAC Combined State Open Championships. (Results). Paige Sommers: The high school junior from Westlake CA won the pole vault at the Thousand Oaks Invitational with a clearance of 14-6 (4.41m), breaking the national junior class record and the American U-18 best. (Results). Ababel Yeshaneh: The distance runner from Ethiopia took 20 seconds off the half marathon world record at the RAK Half Marathon, running 1:04:31. (Results). Sasha Zhoya: The hurdler from Australia, who now represents France, broke the World U-20 record for the 60-meter hurdles at the French U-20 Indoor Championships, running 7.34. (Results). More news |
