AIU Upholds Two-Year Ban For Top U.S. Sprinter

By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor

Christian Coleman's whereabouts violations are going to cost him an Olympic Games.

The Athletics Integrity Unit on Tuesday morning upheld its earlier ruling that Coleman receive a two-year ban from the sport for three violations, or missed tests, during a 12-month period.

Coleman disputed the AIU's findings over the summer and claimed that the third miss, from last December, should not have been registered as a violation.

Tuesday's ruling will sanction for Coleman for two years, dating from May of 2020. The World Athletics Championships in 2022 remains a possibility and would be his next chance to compete on a global stage.
