Charlotte Bednar Runs 9:20.88 In 3,000 Meters On Track By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor The third meeting in a series of track events hosted by the Garden State Track Club at Thomas Edison Park in New Jersey on Saturday provided stages for Charlotte Bednar and Margot Appleton achieve times never seen before in their respective states. Bednar, a junior at The Lawrenceville School, ran an unusual distance for New Jersey preps, the 3,000 meters, and clocked 9:20.88. Bednar's performance included the aid of male pacers. Margot Appleton, a senior at Portsmouth Abbey in Rhode Island, won the 5,000 meters in 16:57.44. That's faster than Sheridan Wilbur's 2015 Rhode Island all-time best of 17:11.32. Gavin Sherry of Conard CT got into a good 5,000-meter race with Jackson Barna from Ridge NJ. Sherry pulled away over the final 800 meters to post a winning time of 14:30.37. Barna ran 14:35.76. In the boys 3,000 meters, Getachew Hayes of LaSalle Institute NY followed and then outkicked Luke Davis of Simsbury CT for the win, 8:45.41 to 8:46.48. Full results - https://results. More news |
