By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor

Collin Burkhart had only to travel about 30 minutes from Nazareth to East Stroudsburg to compete at the American JavFest, an event tailor made to his specialty.

Burkhart, two weeks from winning the javelin at The Outdoor Nationals, presented by Nike, at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., launched a new personal best 216-11 and broke the meet record for the elite boys high school division Friday at JavFest.

All six of Burkhart's throws traveled more than 205 feet and and four of them surpassed his career best.

Burkhart will attend Penn State in the fall.

Kyle Kaufelds from Aiken SC finished second with 195-2.
