Charlotte Prouse Transfers from Washington to New MexicoBy Adam Kopet, DyeStat Editor Paul Merca broke the news late Wednesday that Washington sophomore Charlotte Prouse is transferring to New Mexico for the remainder of her college career. Prouse, a native of London, Ontario, started her collegiate career on a high note. As a freshman, she finished 14th at the 2015 NCAA Division 1 West Region Cross Country Championships. She went on to finish 78th at the NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships. On the track, Prouse focused on the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She won at the Oregon hosted Pepsi Invitational. She went on to finish third at the Pac-12 Outdoor Championships and ninth at the 2016 NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships. After the season was over, Prouse traveled to Bydgoszcz, Poland, for the the IAAF World U20 Championships, representing Canada. She finished sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, running 9:44.62. Prouse continued her strong running to start the 2016 cross country season. She won the Sundodger and Washington Invitationals. However, Prouse's season ended on a sour note when she finished 208th at the 2016 NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships. Prouse did not compete during the 2017 indoor and outdoor seasons. Prouse, 20, has two seasons of cross country eligibility and three seasons of indoor and outdoor track eligibility for the Lobos. |
