Sunset (OR) Boys, Life Christian Academy (WA) Girls Lead Brooks PR Score Rankings

West Coast Teams Continue to See Success in Year Two of the Brooks PR Score Program

The  Brooks PR Score season is only four weeks in, but already more teams and athletes are participating in the program than the inaugural season in 2018. More than 3,400 teams have registered a PR Score and as the end of the season comes into view in many states, movement in both state and national rankings continue to heat up.

Leading the charge on the boys side, Sunset High School in Portland, OR has a narrow lead on Bishop Kelly High School in Boise, ID, 69.3-68.5. Sunset finished third overall in the Brooks PR Score in 2018 and continues to show their strength in developing every athlete in their program.

Another Oregon squad, Oregon City High School in Oregon City, OR, sits third overall with a score of 64.9, while Seattle’s Garfield High School resides in fourth with a score of 64.1. Last year’s ninth place finisher, Dublin High School in Dublin, CA, currently sits fifth with a PR Score of 64.0.

North Phoenix Prep Academy in Phoenix, AZ is tied for sixth with a score of 63.7, along with Northwood High School of Silver Spring, MD, the top-ranked team east of the Mississippi River. 

Another east coast team, Capital Prep Magnet School in Hartford, CT is currently eighth overall with a sore of 63.5, while Horizon High School in Scottsdale, AZ and Sanger High School in Sanger, CA sit in a tie for ninth with a score of 62.8.

On the girls side, two Tacoma, WA teams sit atop of the rankings. Life Christian High School owns the top spot in the nation with a score of 63.6, nearly three full points up on second place Washington High School, who’s 60.7 tally has them ranked a point ahead of third place Alpharetta High School in Alpharetta, GA.

Paradise Valley Christian High School in Phoenix, AZ is currently in fourth place overall with a PR Score of 58.9, while Hayward High School in Hayward, CA gives western teams four of the top five nationally with a fifth place score of 57.6.

Behind Hayward, the competition is fierce. Yamhill-Carlton High School in Yamhill, OR sits only two-tenths of a point behind Hayward with a score of 57.4, while Faith Bible Christian High School in Hillsboro, OR sits a mere tenth of a point behind their in-state river with a score of 57.3.

Rounding out the top ten, Washington School for the Deaf in Vancouver, WA is eight overall with a score of 56.4, Crescenta Valley High School of La Cresenta, CA is ninth with a score of 55.8, while Nordhoff High School in Ojai, CA and Moorefield High School in Moorefield, WV sit tied for tenth with a score of 55.6.

The Brooks PR Score season runs through June 17, with state and national winning teams announced on June 20. The top three boys and top three girls teams in the nation will receive amazing Brooks prize packages.
