Cherry Creek seniors Riley Stewart and Kinsey Christianson won everything from 400 meters to 3,200 meters in Class 5A and enjoyed glorious final appearances in the CHSAA outdoor track and field championships at JeffCo Stadium, which concluded on Sunday.

Stewart of Cherry Creek won the Class 5A 3,200 meters in 10:34.08 and finshed second behind teammate Kinsey Christianson (2:07.25) with 2:10.06 in the 800 meters final. Then, to cap it off, she won the 1,600 meters on Sunday in 4:48.62.

Christianson added a win in the 400, running 55.43 in that final.

Longmont's Connor McCormick beat Niwot's Zane Bergen in two of the their three head-to-head finals in Class 4A. Bergen ran 1:52.07 to repeat as the 4A 800 meters champion and he finished fourth in a wildly competitive 4A boys 3,200 meters final. Nine boys ran under 9:16 and Connor McCormick of Longmont unleashed a big kick to win in 9:03.83 against Tyler Nord (9:05.42) and Erik Le Roux (9:05.62) of Cheyenne Mountain.

On Sunday McCormick ran a meet record 4:06.97 in the 1,600 meters, outkicking Bergen to the finish line.

Niwot's dominance in 4A continued with 170 points and was built on a 1-2-3-4 finish in the 800 meters, where Madison Shults (2:08.33), Stella Vieth (2:11.40), Bella Nelson (2:13.53) and Eva Klingbeil (2:15.09) piled up 29 of the points.

It was Shults over Vieth again in the 400 meters final. Shults won that in 56.05. Then Sunday, in the 1,600 meters, Klingbeil (4:49.66), Nelson and Mia Prok went 1-3-5 for 20 points.

Agur Dwol from Mullen jumped an all-time state best in the triple jump with US#1 wind-legal 42-5.50. She also cracked the 20-foot barrier to win the 4A long jump with 20-1.75w.

Mullen's Kilah Freelon won the 300-meter hurdles with 42.13.

Valor Christian got a huge contribution from Drew Costelow, who swept the three distance races and won the 1,600 in 4:13.09.

Platte Valley's Devyn Lauer-Duarte ran a 3A meet record to win the 200 meters in 21.31 seconds. He also won the 100 in 10.74.

Denver East's Ben Kirk won a 5A sprint double, running 10.94 to take the 100 and 21.43 to win the 200.

Mohammed Ibrahim of Wiggins threw a state-leading 59-10 to win the 2A shot put and was second in the discus with 167-7.
